It brings together more than 4,500 works by over 700 Brazilian and international artists—known and unknown, self-taught and academically trained, classical, contemporary, naïve, and beyond.
What connected them was not a school, a region, or a reputation, but the beauty Lucien recognized in their work.
Part of the collection became the foundation of the International Museum of Naïve Art of Brazil (MIAN), which was open to the public in Rio de Janeiro from 1995 to 2016.
The collection remains open and continues to evolve.
